As the Forest Sleeps

The silence of the afternoon set in as I set up to paint in this remote area of Rockies. Shrouded in the evergreen forest, and low laying winter clouds I felt as if I had a special pass to God's winter wonderland. The black creek meandered making a black "s" curve through the virgin snow of the deep forest. All I needed was a limited palette (Zorn's Palette) to capture this magical moment as the Forest slept.
