Milo on the Roof

This painting represents the relationship I have with my emotional support animal, Milo.
I created this piece using a variety of paint applications; the heavy texture of the roof contrasts with the smoothness of the sky, as well as the more traditional realistic portrayal of Milo. The roof of this painting is textured in order to abstract the space, a figurative place that represents the emotional and mental space I can reach with Milo's support. It is through Milo's role as my emotional support animal that he and I can exist in a "made-up" place filled with peace and improved mental health.
This painting also includes a hint of humor through the situation itself of a dog on a roof. I chose to include humor in this piece in order to bring light to the joy and entertainment I feel when I'm with Milo.
