Lined with Gold on the Saranac River

This was such a fun painting inspired by all the goldenrod lining the edges of the river bank on the Saranac River while I was participating in the Adirondack Plein Air Festival. It was a very hot day, but the gold just seemed to glimmer and sway like a large brush touched all the edges. I was inspired to capture the softness of the gold against the darkness of the water.
