Rival Spirit

While hiking on our remote ranch in the Colorado mountains, a skull of an elk bull was lying in a meadow. I thought of all the bugling bull elk in our area, and all those that had come before. For the setting, I would hike out early mornings to do Plein air sketches of the light.
