Clouds over Cliffs near Ghost Ranch New Mexico

The interest for this watercolor was driven by the dramatic clouds that gather over the mountains and cliffs near the Ghost Ranch in North Central New Mexico. On-site studies and in studio value studies with photographs were used to produce this watercolor. There is a heavy use of titian white opaque gouache to generate the strong whites in the clouds.
