SORELLE is a painting started before Hurricane Ian. I had never seen a red sunflower, so when I spotted one in a store, I had to paint it. Then I had to evacuate because of the hurricane. When I returned to my studio over two weeks later, the flowers had died. This gave me the chance to draw over the dried paint with pastel, combining my love of drawing and painting.
