Glacier Park’s red jammer buses are the coolest icon in the park. These 1920’s era shiny red relics were painted to match the color of ripe mountain ash berries. The bus drivers were called jammers because of the sound the gears made when shifting on the steep roads of the park. In about 2000 the entire fleet underwent restoration, from engines to lights. Glacier’s soaring peaks and turquoise waters are certainly picture worthy, but the shine of those gleaming red jammer buses are magnetic and art worthy!
