Stately Pleasure

Painted in Yosemite en plein air.
I wanted to capture the pleasure this most beautiful Tenaya Lake bekons. Watched over by the powerful Tenaya peak, I wanted to convey the sense of scale of those towering granite peaks in morning shadow in contrast ot the sunlite granite dome landscape. The deep green pine trees along the shore and meandering up to the peaks gave me opportunity to lead into the massive dome. The incredible apline tourquise waters of the lake invites you to take a deep dive into the fresh water.
