This is a studio painting from a plein air study. A spectacular place on the inland Salish Sea of Washington that is meaningful to me and my family. The tides continuously move and connect land and water and make this a living forceful place. I have walked these beaches since I was a kid. Based on a clear, early summer day, I wanted to capture the expanse with bold brushstrokes and the colors that this view holds with the water and the landscape. It is oil on gessoed wood.
