A View from Oh Ridge, June Lake

This painting was from my campsite at Oh Ridge in June Lake California. I am over on the east side of the Sierra every chance I get. Been doing this all my life. It is a plein air oil. I often do some sketching to work out composition, however, this one was perfectly laid out before me and flowed from the brush. I think it was the culmination of sheer happiness from being there, and the many years of hiking and painting in June Lake and the inspiring corner of the world that is Mono County.
