Cloud's Rest from North Dome

Hiking to North Dome above the north rim of Yosemite Valley is quite a hike. I didn't bring my 40x30 canvas, but a pencil, color pencil, and sketchbook. There are amazing views every way one looks. This one is to the south east toward Cloud's Rest. The ubiquitous ravens were there riding the updrafts from the canyon. As soon as we broke out lunch, they appeared at our feet. This is one of my favorite paintings ever. It commemorates that beautiful day, the company I was with, and the most beautiful place on earth, Yosemite.
