Photographing draft horses at the state fair this past year intrigued me in several ways. Observing their beauty and regal conformation, I wanted to create paintings using watercolor transparently, glazing to show the texture of the horses' coats, focusing on the detail of the harnesses, and keeping light areas without the use of any white paint, instead applying liquid masking fluid with a crow quill pen.
