I am constantly exploring. This painting is about exploring an unexpected composition for trees in the snow, from a reference photo that I took on one of our days skate skiing on Mt Hood in Oregon. We live less than an hour from Mt Hood and make frequent trips up to the mountain from Hood River OR. The challenge of painting the shapes of the bright white snow and shadows is something I love.
