This was painted over the course of 9 or 10 sessions at Pirates Lane on Gloucester Harbor. I was attracted to the strong lead in of the granite wall and all of the visual interest along the harbor. The changing tide made for a tricky moving target as the water rose and fell but when the gulls came in to chase the bait fish I knew that I needed them in the painting. Getting the boats and architecture correct took a lot of time but I loved every minute of being there.
