Jewel of the Sierras

Entirely created "en plein air"...unlike many who take their plein air to the studio and do MORE. My passion for "plein air" is one of truth. I do not allow more than many 20 minutes in the studio, to touch up a spot here and there. Believe me THIS KIND OF COLOR, I cannot make up...but take the gift that NATURE gave me...I will do my best!
YES, the entire painting was done on my hands and knees! Only did one mural larger (16 feet long Some scenes just demand to be painted large! To capture the power and energy that natures gives us.
I was blessed that the afternoon got cloudy...just meant I had to paint REALLY FAST, to get the explosion of clouds capturing the last of what that day had to offer...
