Self portrait
The painting is a self portrait with the snake python on the figure that wraps around the neck. The python is a metaphor for some inner and deeper emotions that come outside and wrap around a person just like a snake. If the person is not strong enough to handle the situation, they tend to take control over and like a python squeezes even stronger till he kills his pray. The figure behind represents the same person, but it’s more free in an almost dancing position, that contrasts to the bigger figure. I paint pretty fast while I’m driven by the impression and feelings and tend to paint transparently that allows me to keep my vision fresh and put the ideas on cavas. A colorful palette helps me to express the weight of numbing and negative feelings, but also a strength, showed with serious facial expressions, that’s necessary for holding a large dangerous snake and hiding the tru feeling inside.
